Living Our Purpose

Our employees are the heart of a culture of caring that supports health and well-being for our members, customers and communities.

Our more than 14,000 employees across Illinois are committed to standing with our members and communities, through it all. And they bring this commitment to life in their work and with thousands of hours as volunteers.

En nuestras comunidades

Showing up in our communities is a vital part of our culture. In 2024, more than 4,300 employees volunteered more than 65,500 hours with more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations across Illinois.

By logging their hours with our Blue CorpsSM program, they generated more than $228,000 in matching donations for more than 200 organizations.

“It’s always been my passion and calling to help others in any way that I can,” said 2024 Volunteer of the Year Denise Davis, who logged more than 145 hours with several organizations.

Davis, a health advocate concierge, volunteers with Project Kennedy, helping families with loved ones battling cancer, and with Purple Hose and Healing Foundation, which supports women who've experienced domestic violence. She also started the Arrow Foundation to help families impacted by multiple sclerosis.

Celebrating Unique Perspectives

Recognizing, respecting and celebrating unique experiences and perspectives helps our employees better serve our members and offer products and services that meet their needs.

In 2024, nearly 3,100 employees participated in one or more of our eight Business Resource Groups.

The BRGs provide all employees the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests, fostering a sense of community inside and outside of work. The groups engage in community-focused volunteer activities and provide a critical connection to the business.
